Willow Alexander driver with the side doors of a branded van open, ready to load
Service · Man & Van

A driver, an electric van and a pair of hands that actually help you carry. Priced by the hour or as a fixed job - whichever works out fairer for what you're moving.

Vetted, trusted crews

Every mover is DBS-checked, reference-verified and trained to our standard before they set foot in your home.

The same hands you'll recognise

The crew who pack your home are the crew who carry it. Nothing changes hands unrecorded.

Kind to home and family

Considered, low-tox products that respect delicate surfaces, children and pets, without compromising the finish.

How it works

Small job, same standards.

A man and van is not a lesser service, it's a smaller one. The insurance, the uniform, the protection and the care are identical to a full house move - there's simply less of it.

Tell us what's moving

A list, a few photos or a two-minute video call. Enough for us to know the van size, whether one person is enough, and how long it should honestly take.

Hourly or fixed, your choice

Short local jobs usually work out cheaper by the hour. Anything with a fixed scope we'll quote as one figure so there's no clock-watching.

We load, carry and place it

The driver is there to work, not to supervise. Items are wrapped, strapped, carried in and put where you want them - not left on the pavement.

What's included

The van, the driver, and the lifting.

Everything below is part of the rate. The most common complaint about man-and-van hire is discovering that carrying costs extra. It doesn't here.

Loading & carrying

Included as standard, up and down stairs. You are not paying for a driver who watches you struggle with a sofa.

Blankets, straps & covers

Furniture blanket-wrapped and strapped for transit, mattresses and sofas covered. Supplied as part of the job, not charged as an add-on.

The right van for the job

Short wheelbase to Luton with a tail-lift, chosen from what you're actually moving rather than whatever happens to be free.

Fully insured

Public liability cover on every job, however small. The same standards as a full house removal.

Multiple stops

Collect from two addresses, drop at a third. Tell us the run and we'll price it as one job rather than three.

Waste taken away

Licensed waste carrier, so the old sofa or the packaging can leave with us and be disposed of properly.

Who it's for

The moves too small for a removal firm.

If a full crew and a Luton van would be overkill, this is the service you actually want.

Studios & one-bed flats

A single load, usually done in a morning. The most common man-and-van job we run, and the one it suits best.

Students & first moves

Halls to a house-share, or a house-share to a first flat. Priced for a budget that hasn't got a removal firm in it.

One room, not the house

A bedroom leaving the family home, or a home office moving out. We move only what's yours and leave the rest untouched.

Furniture deliveries

A sofa from a showroom, a table from a marketplace listing, an auction lot that won't fit in the car.

Storage runs

Into a self-storage unit, or out of one. We'll load the unit properly so you can still reach the back of it.

Awkward single items

The wardrobe that won't come down the stairs, the American fridge, the piece two friends and a hatchback couldn't manage.

How we work

Uniformed, insured and on time.

A cheap van off a listings site is cheap for a reason. Here is what you get instead.

A named, uniformed driver

Employed and trained by us, in a marked electric van. You know who is coming and what they'll arrive in.

Fully insured, properly

Public liability cover on every job. Certificates available before you book, not after something goes wrong.

A confirmed arrival window

A timed slot rather than a vague morning. If we're running behind you'll hear it from us first.

Carbon neutral by default

The whole fleet is electric, and what emissions remain are offset through verified projects. It costs you nothing extra.

How it's priced

By the hour, or as a fixed job.

We'll tell you which is cheaper for what you're moving. It is often not the one you'd expect.

Hourly, one man

For light single loads within one area, where you're able to help carry. Charged from arrival to completion, minimum two hours.

Hourly, two menRecommended

Stairs, heavy furniture, or when you'd rather not lift anything. Works out faster and often cheaper overall than one man taking twice as long.

Fixed price

For a defined job - a known list, a set route, a delivery. One figure agreed upfront with no clock running.

Every quote is confirmed in writing before the booking, with the van size, crew and any parking costs itemised - no hidden costs.

Questions

Things people often ask.

Does the driver help with the carrying?
Yes, always. Loading, carrying and unloading are included in the rate - up and down stairs included. You are never paying for someone who only drives.
How much does a man and van cost?
It depends on the van size, whether you need one pair of hands or two, and how long the job realistically takes. Tell us what's moving and we'll confirm an hourly rate or a fixed price in writing before you book.
Is one man enough, or do I need two?
One is usually fine for light single loads on the level where you can help. Two is worth it for stairs, heavy furniture or if you'd rather not lift at all - and because it halves the hours, it is often cheaper overall.
How much fits in the van?
Roughly, a short-wheelbase van takes a studio, a long-wheelbase takes a one-bed flat, and a Luton with a tail-lift takes a small two-bed. Send us a list or a video and we'll confirm rather than guess.
Can you do same-day or weekend jobs?
Often, yes. Same-week is almost always possible and same-day depends on the diary. Weekends book out fastest, so give us as much notice as you can.
Can you collect from more than one address?
Yes. Give us the full run - two collections and a drop, or a collection with a stop at storage - and we'll price it as a single job.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full public liability cover on every job, no matter how small, with certificates available on request.
